When Healthcare, Politics And Personal Interests Mix...

Is The Resulting Cocktail A Social Catastrophe?

This summarizes only SOME of the affiliations between politicians and the pharmaceutical industry. Is it any wonder that this industry is so heavily protected in Washington?

But, there are many more still that are worth noting. Mitchell Daniels (in above link) of Eli Lilly now sits on the Homeland Security Council. George W. Bush Sr. (link below) was once on the Board of Directors for Eli Lilly. In shielding the pharmaceuticals from any vaccine injury liability, is George W. Bush, Jr. trying to somehow protect George Bush, Sr. for past wrongs? Since Bush Sr. sat on the Board of Directors for the first company to ever use thimerosal (mercury) in vaccines, in my opinion, he had to be privy to a great deal of information in terms of the safety of mercury in vaccinations. Who is really hiding behind the "bushes"? In his efforts to protect the pharmaceuticals, is President George W. Bush, our current sitting President, protecting his father - the previous President Bush - Bush Sr.?

And then, who could forget Bill Frist - the person who first sponsored legislation to shield the pharmaceuticals from any liability for vaccine injury.

I feel no anger for those involved in any way in this mess. What I feel - is pity - and tremendous sadness - a sadness that far surpasses even the sadness I feel in my heart for my own son whose life was so changed by autism! Yet, I know his autism will not last for an eternity... May God have mercy on all who have played any role in this for personal gain. :o(
