Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.   John F. Kennedy

If a nation expects to be ignorant and free...it expects what never was and never will be.   Thomas Jefferson

This section provides links to materials used for the Autism-Alzheimer's-Schizophrenia comparison provided on this website.  Although Alzheimer's was first identified at the beginning of the 1900s, the fact is that mercury is a naturally occurring substance, and as such, it is very probable, in my opinion, that although Alzheimer's dates back quite a while, these were isolated cases of mercury exposure.

Age Group

% With Alzheimer's

Interesting Facts

65-75 10% Currently, there are 4 M people in the US With Alzheimer's.   People in their 40s and 50s are also developing Alzheimer's.
75-85 20% Figures are expected to DOUBLE every 5 years!
Over 85 50% If you have 5 flu shots, you are 10 times more likely to get Alzheimer's!

Amalgam (mercury fillings) have been in use since 1830s.  History of amalgams is provided in this first link.  Note:   The danger of amalgams was identified a long time ago - in 1840 - ... yet, to this day, the ADA continues to deny that amalgams pose a significant risk.  Why most dentists won't talk about this issue (2nd link)!!! http://www.drwolfe.com/html/Mercury-Fillings.html

Yet, the government clearly knows the dangers of mercury - although they would like to have us believe that exposure comes primarily from fish.  Note the absence of any mention of "vaccine" exposure in this article!

Learn the facts about mercury and other metals!!!

There is enough mercury in one thermometer or one tooth filling to pollute a 20 acre lake for 10 years.  In fact, if you were to break a mercury thermometer in your house, all persons would need to leave immediately, for up to 3 days while the house windows were left open to get rid of the toxic fumes.   If you ever do break a mercury thermometer, you should leave the house immediately, and contact your local agency responsible for toxic spills.

Mercury is the second most toxic substance known to man... second only to plutonium!

Dental fillings (the silver ones) are actually 50% mercury.

Note:   Although amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles have been the "big area of study" in Alzheimer's,  research based on autopsies of normal aging has shown that amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles do naturally form in the brains of normal elderly throughout the neocortex, hippocampus, and amygdala (Reisberg, 1981).

Neurofibrillary tangles are found in other disorders as well (see last link above).  In other words, they are not "unique" to Alzheimer's.

So, as much as amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles have been in the news, there has to be more to Alzheimer's than "just this issue".  :o)

Intestinal Problems Intestinal problems and Alzheimer's are perhaps hard to differentiate.   Yeast overgrowth, for example, has been found to be a problem (see below) in a few studies, but few studies seem to have focused on that specifically.   There are of course, many who have Alzheimer's who have some kind of intestinal problem too... Crohn's disease, colitis, etc.  Side effects from drugs can also lead to intestinal issues, diarrhea, etc.   Thus, although these are certainly issues in the elderly, they are obviously harder to "pinpoint" in terms of what the actual problem is.    There are thousands of websites on these issues, but simply too many variables to consider and as such, "good studies" on "specific intestinal issues" (i.e., yeast) seem to be kind of hard to find... although I have no doubt that this is a serious issue for those with Alzheimer's because it is a huge issue in autism!     Of course, that is just my humble opinion. :o)
Iron Overload and
Lactoferrin

Note:  Males store iron more readily than women... Could that also contribute to male/female onset variation in Schizophrenia?  Do young boys also retain iron more?   Is that a factor in autism prevalence in boys?

...and yet, another new term for me... dialysis dementia!

... more and more dialysis patients also have diabetes...

Note:  Mercury leads to iron overload... excess iron is known to accumulate in the pancreas leading to diabetes and in the kidney's leading to kidney failure.  Excess iron also suppresses the immune system.

Nitric Oxide

I suspect NO plays a major role in all these mental disorders and the fact that it is in the cerebellum in high concentrations just makes me wonder about NO all the more!!!  See my section on Updates for cerebellum info.  The cerebellum appears to be the "brain within the brain", in charge of regulating many, many functions (motor activity, emotions, language, higher functioning).

NO also regulates synaptic efficacy.

Alzheimer's - These are links I still need to "sort" into categories.

Note:  Today, more and more people in their 50s and 40s are being diagnosed with Alzheimer's.   The youngest documented case is that of a person age 28.

(this first article is an excellent article on Schizophrenia in general - note comment on "everything being in bits... and when you move, the picture is "destroyed" and thus moving is "frightening"... sounds very much, in my opinion, like what we see in autism - the "focus on the parts" issue)

http://wwwchem.csustan.edu/chem44x0/SJBR/Mann.htm (role of dopamine in schizophrenia... note above under casein that ck-1 also plays role in AD and comment that "long fatty chains" have been found - see more on that issue under Lorenzo's Oil section in UPDATES section)

What is indeed amazing, are all other illnesses that show "dementia" too!  Parkinson's, Down's Syndrome and MANY others.    Are these all simply "Shades Of The Same Thing"... various forms of mercury and/or aluminum poisoning?   In my opinion, they are!

My section entitled Alzheimer's First Steps  provides some ideas as to what you can do if you believe you or your loved one may have been a victim of mercury or aluminum poisoning.

Two informative publications from Kirkman Labs (maker of supplements for the autistic) will help all to better understand the autistic child:

1.  Guide To Intestinal Health In Autism Spectrum Disorder:  A Comprehensive Review Of Intestinal Health Issues In Autism Spectrum Disorders.   This guide is authored by Kirkman Labs' technical staff, including:  Mark Brudnak, N.D., Ph.D., Ilene Buchholz, R.N., Stephanie Hoener, N.D., Larry Newman, Chemist and Jon Pangborn, Ph.D. Consultant to Kirkman Labs.

Each chapter in this guide is loaded with references for further study.  These publications will help any scientist understand autism related issues.

2.  A Guide To Scientific Nutrition For Autism And Related Conditions (product catalog for Kirkman Labs - packed with valuable information on many products currently used as supplements for the autistic)

These publications can be obtained from Kirkman Labs at 800-245-8282 or 503-694-1600.   Kirkman Labs is located at 6400 SW Rosewood St., Lake Oswego, OR   97035 or you can visit them at http://www.kirkmanlabs.com.

I encourage all family members of those with loved ones afflicted by Alzheimer's to read the books I have written about autism.   These two books, together, will give you a very good understanding of autism ... and in my opinion, of Alzheimer's too!  :o(

I can't help but ask:  Are we hiding the symptoms and the underlying issues by drugging the elderly... in order to avoid the truth about Alzheimer's?  Why has the government now moved to seal records from lawsuits on vaccine injury?   Are parents and scientists figuring out too much?

http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=healthNews&storyID=1808546

Note:   If anyone finds a link that is not working, please let me know.   I can always find more to support the autism-Alzheimer's comparison if certain links disappear from the Internet.   I will continue to add to the above list over time.   :o)

Things have a tendency to disappear on the Internet, but I can often find where the information has been moved or find replacement links addressing the same issue.  There is a lot of information provided on this site and any assistance with broken links is most appreciated.   My site has now been hacked twice.   If you get bounced to sites for online drugs, etc., report this to me at once using the above email as this is a result of hacking on my site.  This had nothing to do with me and/or my site.  Read more on hacking issue.
